Scala Rider CARDO Q2 (2 Sets) Multiset Review
I am the passenger on my husband’s motorcycle and it has been so frustrating not being able to talk to each other. Our local motorcycle shop had the Scala Rider Q2 set for $395.95 and I said I’m gonna look on Amazon to see if I can find them cheaper. Of course I did and it was the best money I’ve ever spent. My husband is technically challenged so he needed something that was easy to use. What’s easier than attaching the the mike to the helmets, charging the battery, turning it on and talking to each other immediately. The clarity is fantastic!!! We’ve gone 70 mph and continued to talk without a problem. You can’t even hear the wind. The Scala Rider CARDO Q2 is AWESOME!
Been shopping for a bluetooth headset for quite awhile and finally settled on the Cardo Scala Q2 multiset for my Goldwing. It seemed to have the best range and you got 2 headsets at a very reasonable price. My wife loves the fact she doesn’t have a cord to worry about anymore. Mounting the clamp to my HJC flip face helmet was very easy and it has stayed secure after 2000 miles. It took 3 tries to get it to pair with my LG Dare, but has worked fine ever since. Only problem I had was the speaker volume, which was very weak inside my HJC thermoplastic helmet at speed. I added a 1/2″ thick piece of foam to the ear pocket and mounted the speakers closer to my ears instead of mounting them against the shell. Worked so well I had to lower the volume setting! I now hear everything clearly at 80+mph on the freeway. Also like the fact you can easily remove the unit for charging and security. Only gave it 4 stars because the controls are not that intuitive for some people. My passenger has a hard time remembering where to press and for how long.
My cousin bought a set of these for us just before we took a trip up to Monterey for the Moto GP last year. They work great, the sound is really clear, and the unit is a lot more compact than a chatter box. I never setup the bluetooth function on mine, but my cousin did, and he makes calls while riding pretty frequently. Even called me a couple times and it sounded good coming through my cell phone. If I’m going to be riding at highway speeds I like to wear earplugs to reduce the wind noise and protect my hearing; if I do this I can still turn the radio all the way up and hear it pretty clearly, but without all the wind noise. They have a pretty decent range, just make sure to read the directions so you know how to pair it up with the buddy headset. We didn’t do this initially and just relied on the signals constantly re-finding eachother, which still worked ok, but they can cut out randomly.
